A woman has suffered serious burns to her face and hands following an attack on Friday, December 1st.
The woman believed to be a Chinese national was attacked on a path between Merrion Woods and the Seamount Apartments, Blackrock shortly after 10pm.
A caustic substance was thrown at the 32-year-old and Gardaí are appealing for information surrounding a heavy-set man seen in dark clothing around Blackrock at the time of the assault.
It has been reported that detectives are also investigating the possibility of a third woman being involved, as they believe she may have orchestrated the incident.
Gardaí are appealing to walkers, taxi drivers, delivery drivers or any other persons who may have been in the vicinity of Rosemount Terrace, Fosterbrook, Merrion Woods or Seamount Apartments between 9.30pm and 10.30pm to come forward with any information they may have in relation to the incident.
