Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have released a new track – ‘Paper Cages’. They debuted the track on the Andrew Marr show in the UK last week. And while they were there to promote the song, they also wasted no time in promoting their political views too, as British Prime Minister Theresa May was also a guest on the show.
The band’s drummer Paul Thomas wore a t-shirt with ‘NHS’ emblazoned across it.
During the band’s interview, Marr himself told May: “If I’d been waiting for five hours before I’d seen a doctor after my stroke I would not be here talking to you.” The British PM came under a lot of criticism on the show, for cuts to services and recent reports about the long waiting times for ambulances and other health services.
Franz Ferdinand are often publicly critical of the Conservative Party on social media. They took to Twitter to respond to viewer’s criticism.
