Gardaí investigating the discovery of a badly injured man at St. Stephens Park in Castleisland, Co. Kerry have arrested a second man.
The man in his 20s is currently being detained at Tralee Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 along with another 19-year-old man who was previously arrested and remains in Garda custody.
The arrests come following the discovery of a badly injured man in the park during the early hours.
The young man remains in a critical condition in hospital with serious injuries after being found by neighbours following a suspected assault.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward or contact Tralee Garda Station on 066 710 2300.
