Yoko Ono has released her own version of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ to mark what would have been John’s 78th birthday yesterday. It’s available below.
Yoko’s ‘Imagine’ is from her new album ‘Warzone’. Ono’s rendition of ‘Imagine’ comprises of a minimal yet detailed arrangement, beginning with a simple keyboard drone that swells and grows beneath the 85-year-old singer’s tentative vocals.
Halfway through the song, the drone fades to a piano that shimmers beneath Ono’s vocal, letting the song breathe and a new perspective during it’s final moments.
