Robert Plant could be working on a follow up to his old rock band Honeydrippers! A new tweet from the legendary singer makes a nod out to his old group.

Plant shared a photo of himself and Nile Rodgers in a studio saying, “Another reunion … Honeydrippers Vol I 1984, Part 2 … .” Nile Rodgers from Chic played on the original five-track EP.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Plant got the Honeydrippers together in 1981 after Led Zeppelin broke up.  Plant joined forces with musicians he was friends with since childhood. The group played on ’50s blues and rockabilly tunes, and would put on low profile shows in small venues far away from London. Honeydrippers fell apart when Plant started to focus on his solo music with the release of 1982’s Pictures at Eleven.

The Honeydrippers got back together some years after at the insistence Atlantic Records president Ahmet Ertegun. The record executive had seen one of their shows and wanted a new record featuring those classic songs. Plant brought in new musicians with Nile Rodgers, guitarists Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page and keyboardist Paul Shaffer.

“Rockin’ at Midnight,” a Roy Brown song, was  the first single, but DJs much preferred the b-side. An excellent  cover of Phil Phillips’ “Sea of Love.” The track reached No. 3 which was Plant’s highest ever chart achievement as a recording artist.

A full-length record never came to light. Here’s hoping Robert Plant is finally making going to deliver!
