An excellent new video utilises Google Maps to bring Beatles fans on a tour around the globe using the lyrics of the fab four. The lyrical guide spans more than 40, 000 Kilometres.

The Beatles songs are replete with place names and this clever use of technology brings us on a whistle-stop tour. Produced and shared Vanity Fair, the footage starts in The Beatle’s home city of Liverpool.

As well as the obvious locations of Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, other songs such as “Julia” and “Let It Be” bring us to Lennon and McCartney’s respective childhood homes.

From Liverpool, we move to Blackburn via “A Day in the Life”  and then onwards to the Scottish village of Kircaldy with “Cry Baby Cry”. As we move through each location the clip tells us the history of the band’s path to stardom as it unfolds.

The video then whisks us to London, where “Her Majesty” brings us to Buckingham Palace the Royal Albert Hall and the House of Lords and Bishopsgate “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!”. Check it out below!
