A hospital kitchen in Navan Co. Meath has been ordered to close after a dead rat was found for the second time in two months.

The closure of a kitchen at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan last month follows another dead rodent being discovered in a separate area in December.

It’s among 10 enforcement orders from the Food Safety Authority issued to various premises in January.

Other problems found at sites across the country include mouse droppings, cockroach infestations, inadequate cleaning and raw fish being stored next to raw chicken.
