Sound engineer, Mike Fraser, who has worked on every AC/DC record since 1990s’ The Razors Edge, has revealed that AC/DC are back in the studio.
Fraser maintains that the rockers are “doing something” musically and offered details about the band in the Mastering Music Mastering Life podcast last month.
Speculation grew about the band’s activity when lead vocalist Brian Johnson and ex-drummer Phil Rudd were spotted leaving a studio in Vancouver last summer. Johnson had left the band’s tour three years previous because of hearing loss.
Axemen Angus Young and Stevie Young were then seen outside the same studio the following day. Cliff Williams, former bassist with the band was spotted in Vancouver with Johnson back in December.
According to the NME, Mike Fraser didn’t refute claims that the band had been recording recently.
“Well, yeah, I could say that we’ve been in the studio doing something,” Fraser said. “What’s come of that I can’t discuss yet.” Asked if Johnson was back singing vocals, Fraser answered: “I think so.”
