Guns N’ Roses Orders Brewery To Stop Selling Guns N’ Rosé Beer

A lawsuit has reportedly been filed against a brewery by Guns N’ Roses. The rock band are up in arms over a trademark infringement concerning a beer which has been given the same name as the legendary rockers.

This so-called Guns N’ Rosé drink was launched as one of the brand beers at the Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective’s Oskar Blues Brewery. Breweries can be found in Colorado, North Carolina, and Texas.

According to The Blast via NME, Guns N’ Roses objected to the brewery, using their name as a trademark and have sought legal advice preventing them from selling the beer as well as other merchandise including hats, t-shirts, pint glasses, stickers, buttons, and bandanas.

Although in principal Canarchy agreed to stop, they will not enforce this ruling until March 2020 and Guns N’ Roses are not happy. They are now suing for trademark infringement and looking for damage liability from the company. There has been no response from Oskar Blues Brewery about the lawsuit so far.

In the meantime, Guns N’ Roses have started working on a new album. Bassist Duff McKagan and guitarist Slash will feature on the new record for the first time since they last played together in 1993 on ‘The Spaghetti Incident?’

McKagan spoke a few months ago about some of the new material and how his involvement came about after he had listened to demos that frontman Axl Rose was working on.

“There’s never been a direct schedule on how we do things,” he said. “I’ve heard some magnificent stuff that Axl has, really cool stuff he’s been working on. So I’m excited about the possibilities of that, of course.”

According to McKagan, the band is not planning to release the new material anytime soon and the fans should not get overly enthusiastic about getting to hear the new material. “I don’t mean to get anybody rabid. Our day will happen when it happens, that’s for sure.”
