The Grammy Awards helped several artists see sales spikes this past week

The Grammy Awards are turning out to be more than just a place for artists to get recognized for their excellent work. According to some recent Nielsen Soundscan, various musicians who either picked up Grammys or performed at last week’s show are seeing big bumps in sales, thanks no doubt to the festivities.

Alternative folk act Mumford & Sons took home Album of the Year for their 2012 release “Babel,” which helped the release go up in sales by 50 percent. The band performed their hit “I Will Wait” at the show, and sales for that single went up by 116 percent.

Blues-rock duo the Black Keys took home three Grammys at the ceremony and saw sales of their latest album, 2011’s “El Camino,” bump by 72 percent.

The list of Grammy artists who have seen significant sales jumps this past week also includes Alabama Shakes and the Lumineers, among others.
