In 2008, scientists discovered an asteroid orbiting our Sun.

NASA gave it the snappy title, 2008 KV2. Scientists graphed estimates of its trajectory between 1900 to 2199.

That was to glean a better understanding of how often it has come in close proximity to the Earth’s orbit.

It’s now anticipated that the asteroid will whiz by our planet at a distance of approximately 6.7 million kilometers on Today, June 27th.

Mashable reports the space object is three times bigger than a football field!

The roid will fly by earth at a speed of 40,800 kilometers per hour and in terms of distance, it will be moving about 17 times the distance of the moon from our planet.
