Noel Gallagher joked about how he intends to spend the money he receives from selling his Oasis masters to the highest bidder.
According to the NME, Gallagher made the announcement on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. Noel was on the show to promote his upcoming EP after releasing his new single ‘This Is The Place’ on Monday.
During the interview, the High Flying Birds man, spoke about the masters for Oasis’ full back-catalogue, which are “due to come back around to him in about four or five years”.
Oasis’s music was previously released on the Creation and Big Brother’s labels and Gallagher revealed his intentions for the tapes.
When Noel is set to acquire the rights to the back catalogue, he said that he would be selling them off to the highest bidder:
“Trust me, I will be selling mine to the highest bidder. Well, what am I going to keep them for? So my kids can benefit? No, no, I’m gonna sell them.”
He added, “I’m going to buy a plane, a yacht, I want a chimp with a top hat, and I’ll buy a rocket. And then I’ll leave the kids with the other stuff from the 2000s.”
Speaking in another interview Noel offered his opinion about his brother Liam’s Glastonbury 2019 slot:
“I don’t think I’ve ever been so embarrassed for a man in my entire life,”
He spoke out against Liam’s solo music saying it was “unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people by an unsophisticated man”. Ouch.
