Lisa Smith has asked for the terrorism case against her to be dropped. The Louth native, who is accused of membership of ISIS, has appeared in court for the fourth time.
Ms. Smith was escorted into the Criminal Court of Justice just before half ten this morning by two Gardai.
The former member of the Defence Forces stood silently as the State’s solicitor asked for further time to prepare the book of evidence – describing it as a complicated and substantial case.
The mother of one is accused of membership of the terrorist group ISIS. She denies the charge.
The 37 year old’s solicitor asked for the case to be actively reviewed saying there isn’t a ‘single piece of evidence amounting to a charge’.
He asked for the charge to be discontinued with Judge John Hughes replying that it was a matter for the DPP and not the court.
The case is due back in court on the 4th of March.
Lisa Smith, whose address can’t be published for legal reasons, has been remanded on continuing bail until then.
