Hole frontwoman, Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain married 28 years ago last Monday, February 24th.
The singer marked the anniversary via an Instagram post honouring her late husband by sharing a touching pic of the two on the happy day itself.
In the photo, seen below, the couple both appear windswept in front of the ocean. Kurt has a big smile while the couple carries a bouquet each and link their arms together. Courtney wrote on the post:
“28 years ago , we got married , in Honolulu, on Waikiki beach. 28 years ago I recall feeling, deeply, delighted, dizzy, so in love, and knowing how lucky I was. This man was an angel. I thank him for looking out for me.”
Love looked back at how life proved testing at times, but that her late husband helped her get over the difficult periods. The singer said via Billboard:
“Many parts of the last 28 years have been torturous chaotic and uphill, and in public? That is the darkest s**t imaginable, it almost tapped my resilience, almost. But between Kurt’s strange amazing divinity, and the honour of a few true friends, the gift of desperation and sobriety.”
The rock legends were betrothed for just two years before Cobain passed away by suicide on April 5th 1994. The singer concluded: “I see him on the shore. Rocking in the free world. My husband.”
