The rural pub in Australia that was the setting for David Bowie’s 1983 video for ‘Let’s Dance’ is yours if you want it!

Carinda Hotel, the pub in the small New South Wales town Carinda, was listed on Gumtree on Tuesday for the sum of AUD $220,000, or a steal at just over €130, 000 in our money.

According to the ad, the spot against the wall where Bowie stood in the ‘Let’s Dance’ video is, “unchanged to this day.” The ad goes on to say that The Carinda Hotel consists of a, “large bar area with beer on tap, (No!) glass and bottle fridges as well as two cool rooms; kitchen area with large grill extractor fan and storage areas, freezers and fridges included; six internal rooms attached to the rear of the building as well as three cabins on the property; internal and external toilets; (wouldn’t be Australia without them) and living quarters and shed in the rear.”

The hotel was made famous in 1983 when David Bowie filmed his 80’s classic ‘Let’s Dance’ which has also welcomed a Let’s Dance festival to the town of Carinda annually.

Bowie filmed the video in the rural town in an effort to address racism and tackle it head on by showing unity.

“As much as I love (Australia), it’s probably one of the most racially intolerant in the world, well in line with South Africa,” Bowie said in an interview with Rolling Stone in 1983.
