Ryanair is expecting to ground almost all of its fleet from next Wednesday.
A very small number of flights will continue to run between Ireland and the UK.
The airline says where possible, it will operate rescue flights to support the repatriation of EU citizens.
Meanwhile, from midnight tonight, Ryanair will cut its flight schedules by 80 per cent.
