The Metallica lads came together apart online to record a new version of their 1988 song "Blackened," with all four performing separately in their homes. The split-screen video was posted to the band's socials over the weekend.

Looks like Rob Trujillo lives in a laundry. And Kirk tries to look imposing or threatening and ends up looking a bit silly!

The was accompanied by a message from the group which read, "Here's a little something we cooked up over the last few days. Hope you’re all safe & sound. Have a great weekend."

Drummer Lars Ulrich said in an interview last week that it was possible the band could get together to write and record a new album while in quarantine.

The band had to postpone a South American tour from April to December due to the pandemic, while four out of the five Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals it was supposed to headline in May and September were canceled.
