The world's first privately built spacecraft is expected to be visible over Irish skies at around 950pm tonight.

The SpaceX rocket is the first manned launch from US soil since 2011 and the mission, known as Demo-2, will allow the US to once again send humans into space.

Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) in the spacecraft built by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk's company.

You can see it live by watching the stream in the link at the top of this page or clicking here. It will be streaming in the lead up to liftoff at 21:33pm Dublin time, and then continuing through docking the next day.

Astronaut Tim Peake said the rocket will also be visible in you look south-west.
