Here’s something we’d never thought we would be seeing: Evanescence doing a cover of an old Bananarama tune!
Amy Lee and Troy McLawhorn have recorded a somewhat somber take of ‘Cruel Summer’.
“I don’t know about you guys, but so many songs have seemed to have taken on a new and deeper meaning during this time, and that’s one of those for me,” Lee said after the performance. “I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoyed our little performance. We can’t wait to play for you live in the flesh again, but until then, stay safe, be well and take care. We love you.”
Evanescence are currently preparing to release their new studio album ‘The Bitter Truth’. The band plans on releasing the album “incrementally throughout 2020.”
Last month they shared their new single “Wasted On You”.
The video was shot by each band member on their iPhones while currently in isolation, and directed by P.R. Brown in collaboration with the band through lots of Facetime.
