A proposed 4km extension to the Luas Green Line will see cut through three existing parks. The plan, which has been unveiled today, will Link Finglas onto the existing route.
The 4km proposed route will lay a “grass track” through Tolka Valley Park, before crossing into Barnamore Grove Linear Park and on through Mellowes Park.
It will create 4 new stops at St Helena’s, Finglas Village, Mellowes Park and Charlestown; where there will be A 600 space park and ride.
The plan will impact a number of properties, but TII and the NTA say they’re committed to managing land acquisitions fairly.
Luas trams are also getting longer with the first 55 metre tram unveiled today. A public consultation is open on luasfinglas.ie now until mid-September.
