Having more Gardaí out on patrol and tackling those selling illegal fireworks needs to become a priority.
That’s according to south Dublin councillor, Carly Bailey. It follows reports that a woman was injured after a firework was thrown at her in Rathfarnham.
While in Palmerstown, local reps say a number of bangers have been put through people’s letter boxes.
A 2nd incident in recent days in #Palmerstown of banger being put through a letterbox.
This isn’t funny, someone could literally lose their life from an incident like this. Can we please hear what action is happening to stop the rampant supply of fireworks & bangers. @gardainfo

Usually an issue in the run up to Halloween, illegal fireworks have been causing serious distress for communities around Dublin as early as August.
Dublin Live reports that an address in the Wheatfield area had a banger shoved through its letterbox. The outlet also reported that a couple wheeling around their newborn child had a banger hurled at them earlier that evening.
