Tangoed Trump Says Public Sick of 'Idiots' Like Fauci
Donald Trump Questions Dr Fauci's Intelligence

Loading

The orange horror continues in the US. Donald Trump, who claims to be very intelligent because his uncle went to college, was on a call with campaign staff. The call was open to journalists. Mr Trump said that people were tired of coronavirus and that they wanted to be left alone. He told staff that people were "tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots".

Trump went further than he has ever gone before in his attacks on the country's leading health official, saying that Dr Fauci was a "disaster". "If we listened to Fauci we'd have 700,000 to 800,000 deaths".

This puts Leo Varadkar's spectacular takedown of Dr Tony Holohan and the other experts on the NPHET a couple of weeks ago into the shade.

As of yesterday, the US had over 225,000 Covid related deaths and at 679 deaths per million, the country has one of the world's highest Covid-19 death rates.

The leader of the free world later went on to say that Dr Fauci is a "nice guy" but that he "loves being on television" - pot, kettle.

Dr Fauci, one of the world's most respected public health experts, on Sixty Minutes, said of Trump's Covid-19 diagnosis and the events leading up to it, "I was worried that he was going to get sick when I saw him in a completely precarious situation of crowded, no separation between people, and almost nobody wearing a mask".

Mr Trump later went on to criticise the media, saying, "You turn on CNN, that's all they cover ... People aren't buying it, CNN you dumb b***ards".

The US election takes place on Tuesday, November 3rd.
