As we move into yet another lockdown weekend, the weather is set to take a stormy turn. A Status Yellow warning for stormy conditions has already been issued for today and tomorrow along the entire west coast, from Donegal to Cork.
Dublin will not get off lightly over the weekend, however. Saturday and Sunday are set to see rain and wind battering the east coast area. While it will be mild for the time of year, averaging 15 degrees during that day, it may feel colder in those high South Westerlies.
Today will continue blustery and tomorrow, during the day, will be mostly dry in Dublin. Rain and blustery conditons will move in on Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday will likely be a washout. Flooding is a real risk in the stormy conditions. At this time of year, with leaves blocking drains, parts of Dublin city are particularly vulnerable.
“Very unsettled, possibly stormy conditions at times over the weekend and into the early days of next week, with further rain leading to the risk of flooding,” Met Éireann says.
High pressure is set to move in over Ireland from the middle of next week, bringing with it cooler and more settled conditions.
