In the same interview were he criticised Danny Boyle’s upcoming biopic of his old band the Sex Pistols, John Lydon also blasted the woke culture and “spoilt snowflakes”. The former Pistols frontman branded it a “load of b******s”.
Lydon claimed that universities are responsible for creating a generation with “s**t for brains”.
“These people aren’t really genuinely disenfranchised at all, they just view themselves as special”, Lydon said. “It’s selfishness and in that respect it’s divisive and can only lead to trouble”.
The man also known as Johnny Rotten asked this question, “Where is this ‘moral majority’ nonsense coming from when they’re basically the ones doing all the wrong for being so bloody judgmental and vicious against anybody who doesn’t go along with the current popular opinion?”.
He also added, “It’s just horribly, horribly tempestuous spoilt children coming out of colleges and universities with s**t for brains”.
“Thank you again Winston” – Lydon
Last year, far right demonstrators gathered to the city’s Parliament Square to “protect statues” such as Winston Chruchill’s after it was vandalised. Someone sprayed the word “racist” onto the monument. This action was also criticised by John Lydon in this new interview.
“This man saved Britain”, Lydon said referring to Churchill. “Whatever he got up to in South Africa or India beforehand is utterly irrelevant to the major issue in hand”.
The singer also added, “We are not walking up and down the high street with jackboots and helmets because of that man. The Nazis were the biggest race haters of all, ever, in the history of the planet so thank you again, Winston”.
In the same interview, the former Pistols frontman had this to say regarding recent publcity shots of that upcoming biopic of the Sex Pistols directed by Danny Boyle.
“I think that’s the most disrespectful s**t I’ve ever had to endure. I mean, they went to the point to hire an actor to play me but what’s the actor working on? Certainly not my character. It can’t go anywhere else (but court)”.
