Exciting times ahead for this year’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations with the return of The Dropkick Murphys St Patrick’s Day Tour. Kicking things off in Reading, Pennsylvania, the American Celtic punk band will conclude with their customary St. Patrick’s Day week shows in Boston.

Joined for most shows on the 22-date run by special guests; The Bombpops, The Rumjacks, and Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, we have one hell of a tour! The return of the Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Tour follows back-to-back cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the fan favourites persevered with 2020’s Streaming Up From Boston, and 2021’s St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down, which topped Pollstar’s Livestream Chart.

Along with 2020’s Streaming Outta Fenway and 2021’s Turn Up That Dial Album Release Party, these livestreamed concerts were watched over 17 million times. The band also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for DKM’s charity, The Claddagh Fund and other non-profits.

Dropkick Murphys returned to the road for their first live shows since the pandemic began, performing from August through to mid-October 2021. In the US, they hit the road with co-headliners; Rancid for the Boston To Berkeley II Tour, featuring performances at Chicago’s Riot Fest, and Sacramento’s Aftershock.

The American, Celtic punk rockers have been very busy over the last while, and even released a new album last April. While hot on the heels of Turn Up That Dial, Dropkick Murphys announced a gig at 3Arena this year. However, according to the venue, “Drpkick Murphys have rescheduled their forthcoming tour and will now play 3Arena on Saturday 14 January 2023.” Tickets for this year’s dates went on sale last year, May 7th, though should still be valid for next year’s show.

Speaking on the Dropkick Murphys life in lockdown they said: “At first, we didn’t know if or when we’d ever play music again, but we found a way to do it,” states Casey. “It was nice to have something to work on to keep us sane and give us a little bit of hope. We also had the time to tinker and change things we probably wouldn’t have ordinarily. I wish it was under different circumstances, but the time was ultimately beneficial.
