Vladimir Putin says Russia's long-range missile attacks on Ukrainian cities - including Kyiv - was a retaliation for what he called 'terrorist acts'.

At least 10 people have died and 60 more are injured following Russian missile attacks across Ukraine, which included the targeting of Kyiv.

Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claims Moscow is deliberately targeting citizens.

But his Russian counterpart says the Kremlin was firing at infrastructure, days after an attack on a bridge linking his country with Crimea:

Putin said: ''In case of continuation of terrorist attacks on our territory, we will respond in a very harsh manner. We will respond in level with the level of threats posed against the Russian Federation.''
