Dublin has a brand new food and drink festival kicking off for St Patrick’s weekend 2023.

“Me Auld Flower” will be a first of its kind festival held in the historic Dublin City Fruit, Veg & Flower Market, which originally opened its doors in 1892 and served for 127 years from its block in Smithfield until it finally closed its doors in 2019.

From Andy Noonan and his team — the brains behind Big Grill, Europe’s biggest BBQ and food festival — Me Auld Flower will have almost 50 different vendors providing hot and cold food, producers and growers, spirits makers and craft beer brewers, with 20,000 people expected to attend.

Taking place as part of the St. Patrick’s Festival ‘One City’ Programme for 2023, Andy Noonan, Festival Director says, “We are honoured to host this first-of-its-kind-event in one of Dublin’s most-loved buildings. To bring this festival to life has been years in the making. I’ve always wanted to host an event in the market, highlighting the best in Irish food & drink. Me Auld Flower will bring this all to life under one roof. Guests can expect the same eye for talent as Big Grill, with all of the festival atmosphere we’re known for, in an indoor setting. We are excited to be part of our national celebrations, working alongside the St Patrick’s festival team.”

Me Auld Flower will offer something new and different for St. Patrick’s Day, designed as much for our home audience as for the visitors from abroad.

There will be 6 sessions over the Thursday through to Sunday of St Patrick’s Festival weekend, with everything from fresh oysters to world-class charcuterie and cheese, from cheeky bacon and cabbage dumplings to a Michelin-star bowl of coddle, or pick up a bag of local spuds to bring home.
