‘So Happy It Hurts’

This upcoming tour will support Bryan Adams’ album ‘So Happy It Hurts’, which he released last March.

The pandemic and lockdown really brought home the truth that spontaneity can be taken away”, the singer said of the album in a press release.

“Suddenly all touring stopped, no one could jump in the car and go. The title song ‘So Happy It Hurts’ is about freedom, autonomy, spontaneity and the thrill of the open road. The album of the same name touches on many of the ephemeral things in life that are really the secret to happiness and, most importantly, human connection”.

On the album, Adams released a single named ‘KickAss’ which also featured comic icon John Cleese.

The track was also written by Robert “Mutt” John Lunge, who had previously worked with Adams on previous albums including 1991’s Waking Up The Neighbours and 1996’s 18 Till I Die.

According to Adams, Cleese delivered a spoken word which “sums up the song” .

“Kick Ass begins with a John Cleese introductory sermon which sums up the song”, Adams said of the track at the time. “There’s not enough rock and roll in the world… end of! More guitars, more drums, join hands… let’s rock”.
