Jeremy Renner Says He Wrote "Last Words" To Family While In Hospital After Accident

Jeremy Renner has revealed that he said his "last words" to his family while lying in hospital following his snowplough accident.

The Hawkeye star was airlifted to hospital after being crushed by a six tonne snowplough while trying to save his nephew at his ski resort on New Years Day.

It was later revealed that Renner sustained several serious injuries, including 8 ribs in 14 different places, along with a broken ankle, clavicle, right knee shoulder, and left tibia.

Other injuries included a broke jaw, eye socket, manible, as well as suffering a collapsed lung, after it was pierced by his rib bone, which also penetrated his liver.

After being released from hospital, Jeremy Renner thanked his fans for their "kind words" of support. More here.

"writing down notes"

Since then, Jeremy Renner has broken his silence about the accident, revealing he had written his "last words" to his family while in hospital.

Speaking to ABC's Diane Sawyer in an interview which will be showcased this week, Jeremy Renner said, "So I'm writing down notes on my phone (which are the) last words to my family". 

"If I was there on my own, it would have been a horrible way to die and surely, I would have, surely", Renner can also be heard saying in the clip.

He added, "But I wasn't alone, (there) was my nephew, sweet Alex, and the rest of the cavalry came". 

Renner's nephew also added,  “I just perfectly see him in a pool of blood coming from his head, and I ran up to him… You know, I didn’t think he was alive”. 

The interview will also includes the 911 call made by Renner's nephew, when he discovered his uncle's body.

“I chose to survive”, Renner can be hearding telling ABC. “You’re not going to kill me! No way! I’ve lot a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refuelled and refilled with love and titanium”.
