Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that he can “so clearly” see how he could win the 2024 Presidential election, if he was eligible to run as a candidate.
Born in Austria in 1968, Schwarzenegger moved to the US in 1968, becoming a US citizen in 1983.
While he may not be eligible to run for presidency, the former California Governor has stated that it would be a “no brainer” if he could.
“bring everyone together”
As he was not born in the United States, Arnold Schwarzenegger cannot run for presidency.
“Well, yes, of course”, Schwarzenegger replied when asked if he would run for the White House hotseat if he was eligible.
The Terminator star continued, “I mean, I think the field was wide open in 2016. And I think the field is open right now. I mean, think about it right now. I mean, who is there? There is really not a person that can bring everyone together”.
“Who is here today that people say okay, he’s not too old or he’s not too this or too that, or is that because it’s now a question about who do you vote against than who do you vote for”.
Schwarzenegger reiterated his stance that he would run for election if he was allowed to do so.
“Put me in because it’s, look – it’s a no brainer. I see so clearly how I could win that that election”, he insisted.
“bring the nation together”
Elsewhere, Schwarzenegger opined that the emphasis must be on whether or not the next president can “bring the nation together”, as opposed to focusing on their political alliegiences.
“I mean, it’s like me and California”, he said. “And when that was, you know, running for governor, it was clear that people are looking for some new answer, not a right wing or left wing, but someone that can bring the nation together”.
“There’s just so many things that need to be done. And can be done. And what makes it so wonderful is because it’s doable. It’s all doable, or at least it’s just people coming together and say yes, we can do it”.
Arnold Schwarzenegger won the gubernatorial races in California in 2003 and 2006, serving as their 38th governor between 2003 and 2011.
Back in May, Arnold Schwarzenegger criticised the recent Terminator films, Genisys and Dark Fate. He claimed that they were “not well written”.
