Festival To Mark 60th Anniversary Of Beatles’ Solo Dublin Show

The 60th anniversary of The Beatles‘ only Dublin show is fast approaching and the Dublin Beatles Festival is to mark the occasion in style on November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th.

The ‘Fab Four’ crossed the Irish Sea to the ancestral home for Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison on November 7th, 1963 and played at the Adelphi Cinema on Middle Abbey Street, now Arnotts car park.

A recreation of live music – including the Beatles For Sale who’ll play the exact same set which The Beatles played in Dublin in 1963, 60 years to the night after it originally happened.

Hamburg Beat are coming over from the UK to play the raw rock ‘n’ roll which The Beatles played in Germany in the early 1960s.

The Newspaper Taxi Men are reuniting for a special headline show at the Workman’s Club for the ‘Big Gig’ on the Saturday night.

Freda Kelly is coming home to conduct a public interview with Something Happens frontman and broadcaster Tom Dunne – after a showing of the award-winning documentary Good ol’ Freda.

Jason Carty and Steven Cockcroft from the world’s top Beatle podcast Nothing Is Real are going to set the questions and present this year’s annual Beatles table quiz.

There will be a performance of Lennon & Shotton, a stage play about John Lennon and his best friend Pete Shotton, and their wild years at Quarry Bank High School in Liverpool.

More live music comes from artists such as Let It Be-atles, Fiach Moriarty, Lenin & Lionel, Duncan Maitland and Padraig Bennett.

There’ll even be a ukelele version of the ‘Abbey Road’ album from POLYTHENE JAM. Terry Saunders free beatles walking tour is back by popular demand.
