Tributes have been paid to Massive Attack’s guitarist Angelo Bruschini who has died, the band has confirmed today

The prolific and talented guitarist had been battling lung cancer.

Massive Attack wrote on X: “A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon.

How lucky we were to share such a life together.”

Bristol-born Angelo Bruschini joined the trip-hop combo group in the 1990s. He was also well-known for producing alternative rock band Strangelove‘s eponymous album in 1997.

He also played the guitar for Jane Taylor’s track Blowing This Candle Out, released in 2005.

In a public post on social media in July, Bruschini wrote that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer and that several specialists had wished him “good luck“.

He added: “Had a great life, seen the world many many times, met lots of wonderful people, but the door is closing, think I will write a book.”
