Two iconic albums from the Beach Boys are to be released on colour vinyl for Christmas.
The two albums being shared on vinyl, ‘Pet Sounds’, and ‘The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album, will be released for the holidays.
Fans of the Beach Boys, will be able to get their hands on this limited edition album, exclusively available from the official store, uDiscover Music, and Sound Of Vinyl.
‘The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album’ was released in 1964, and includes festive hits including ‘The Man With All The Toys’, ‘Little Saint Nick’, and ‘Merry Christmas Baby’.
Other tracks including the Beach Boys’ covers of ‘Frosty The Snowman’, and ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ will also be released in the colours of Christmas.
Elsewhere, the Beach Boys have also shared a ‘Sail On Saint Nick’ animated, short music video for ‘Little Saint Nick’, and a lyric video for ‘The Man With All The Toys’.
A new collection of merchandise and apparel including a festive sweater, shirts, hoodies, beanies, socks, hats, tree ornaments, and more will also be available. More on this here.
‘Pet Sounds’
Another iconic Beach Boys album, ‘Pet Sounds’, is also available on limited edition yellow/green splatter vinyl, matching the album’s colour scheme.
It will also include a deluxe tip-on jacket, and is available on the band’s official store, as well as Sound Of Vinyl, and uDiscover Music.
These albums have been newly mixed by multiple Grammy winning producer, Giles Martin, who previously mixed ‘Pet Sounds’ originally.
Martin was allowed access to the original analogue tapes, and built this new mix from scratch.
For this, Martin used the 1996 mono mix from Beach Boys’ frontman Brian Wilson, and Mark Linett’s 1997 stereo mix as guides.
