Selena Gomez is to portray music legend Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.
This comes after the US singer had recently teased this project, having shared an image of Ronstadt's 2013 memoir 'Simple Dreams' via social media.
While a director for this biopic has yet to be confirmed, John Boylan Ronstadt's manager will co-produce alongside James Keach.
Details regarding additional casting and release date have also yet to be announced, aside from Gomez taking up the role as Linda Ronstadt.
Linda Ronstadt has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the music business. In a career which has spanned five decades, Linda Ronstadt won 11 Grammy Awards, as well as receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from both the Recording and Latin Recording Academies.
In 2011, she retired from music, later revealing that she was unable to perform due to her progressive supranuclear palsy, which had been originally mistaken for Parkinson's disease.
Linda Ronstadt and Selena Gomez are both of Mexican descent.
Last weekend, the Eagles introduced long time collaborator JD Souther onto the stage at their shows in LA.
Souther's association with the Eagles can be traced back as far as the 1960s, after he moved to LA, and befriended Glen Frey.
Along with collaborating on several Eagles tracks, Souther has also worked with Linda Ronstadt during his career.
