A special duets album celebrating the music of the late Glen Campbell will be posthumously released showing the country music star sharing the mic with several household names.

Arriving in April, Glen Campbell Duets will include duets with the likes of Eric Clapton, Brian Wilson, Elton John, Sting, Eric Church, and Dolly Parton.

This album will revisit Glen Campbell’s 2011 Ghosts On The Canvas, which was recorded following the singer’s Alzheimer’s disease.

It was an album which also signalled the spark for a world tour, documentary, as well as an accompanying soundtrack. This also included two more song collections, See You There (2013), and Adiós (2017).

“moved recently”

Glen Campbell wrote songs for Ghosts On The Canvas, alongside producer Julian Raymond, as well as a series of covers.

“I’ve always admired Glen Campbell’s guitar playing and loved his singing,” says Clapton. “I was moved recently when one of his final performances, during his illness, came on TV. When I was asked to sing and play with Glen on the song Jakob Dylan wrote, it all just felt right, and I am happy to be part of it.”

“It was really special to me to be able to be part of this project,” adds Church. “Glen was so important to not just Country music, but all of music. What a stallion!”.

Pollard’s Hope On Hope was also augmented by Eric Church, and Jakob Dylan. Dylan’s Nothing But The Whole Wide World also includes contributions from Eric Clapton.

Glen Campbell Duets will arrive via Surfdog Records on April 19.

Back in 2014, Glen Campbell released  ‘I’m Not Going to Miss You’, which had been rumoured to have been his last ever song. More on this here.
