Liam Gallagher has shared renewed optimism that Oasis could reunite after all.

Oasis split up in 2009 following a backstage row between Liam and his estranged brother Noel, and the pair have been at war ever since.

A few weeks ago, Liam Gallagher even claimed that he had offered Noel the chance to reunite the band for his 30th anniversary 'Definitely Maybe' tour, but Noel had allegedly "turned it down".

"he'll be doing the calling"

In a recent interview, Liam Gallagher has insisted that the onus is on Noel to set the wheels in motion regarding any Oasis reunion.

"He knows I'm not going to call him," he told The Sunday Times. "He's the one who split the band up, so he'll be doing the calling, and if there is no calling we won't be getting back together".

The singer appeared to give fans fresh hope of an Oasis reunion, by saying, "To be fair, though, I can see it happening. Now things have changed in his personal life (Noel split from his wife, Sara, last year) I can see him looking back, not looking back in anger, and going, 'Do you know what? I was really mean to my little brother. Now it is time for me to send him a box of chocolates".

Despite their long term feud and war of words which has ensued between the pair over the last decade, Liam Gallagher remains confident that Oasis will reunite, and the pair will mend fences.

"I love my brother, I love my family, and all that Oasis s**t, there was no need for it (the breakup), you know what I mean?. Maybe someone can get a bit tetchy on tour. Maybe someone drinks a bit too much. But we didn't have to split up over it", Gallagher said.

He added, "I don't hold grudges, man, and if Oasis got back together it would be great because I would only have to sing 15 songs and he could do the rest. I could do that standing on me head".

Liam Gallagher is currently working with Stone Roses' John Squire, with a collaborative album to be released this Friday (March 1).
