Duff McKagan has revealed that Guns N’Roses have plenty of new material in the works.

The bassist declared this while appearing on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk’.

The band have not released a new album since 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’, but did release a four track EP in February 2023, including the single ‘Perhaps’.

The band also shared a new single ‘The General’ last December.

Released via Geffen Records, the track is actually the B-side of their limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single ‘Perhaps’. Check that out and Nova’s report for more here.

“absolutely”

Speaking on the Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk’ show, Duff McKagan was asked if he thought that Guns N’Roses would release “newly written music” in the future.

“Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely”, insisted McKagan. “There’s new material. I don’t know how we’re gona put it out. I think that’s a question too. Like, do you put out a record? Do you just keep putting out singles? I don’t know what the right answer is there in this day and age”.

This would appear to echo the sentiments of McKagan’s bandmate Slash, who has been quoted in the Daily Star as saying: “GUNS N’ ROSES are trying to make their own record and I’m working with them in that capacity but this didn’t involve anyone else”.

Slash made these comments when he was asked why Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators did not feature on his album ‘Orgy Of The Damned’.

“It was my own side thing, so I wasn’t dragging my own guys in”, he explained.

In other news, Duff McKagan announced back in April that he would perform a headline show at The Academy, Dublin on September 30, as part of his ‘Lighthouse’ Tour’, supporting the album of the same name, featuring Jerry Cantrell and Iggy Pop.
