The Who’s Roger Daltrey has insisted that he will not rest until his former bandmate Keith Moon gets a proper biopic.
A biopic on Moon who died on 7 September 1978 aged 32, has been in the pipeline for a while, with Daltrey stating that it is at the top of his priorities.
Roger Daltrey is currently in the midst of a solo tour across the US, which finishes on June 28.

Speaking a a recent interview, Roger Daltrey said that making this documentary about the Who drummer is in the works.
“We have a script”, the musician revealed.
“We’re checking out directors, trying to get the best available director, ’cause all the good ones are always working. I’ve got to find good people with the time to make this film. I want to get that made when I’m still alive to promote it, so that’s taking up quite a lot of my time”.
Talks over a Keith Moon biopic were first mentioned back in February last year, but development issues have resulted in a long delay, with Austin Powers star Mike Myers reportedly chosen to portray Keith Moon, according to reports.
Last year, Daltrey did say that Myers “would’ve made a fabulous Keith” and “it’s a shame that it never happened”. More on that report from Nova here.
However, Daltrey stated: “You can’t do that without a director, and I can’t do the final draft of the script, ’cause that’s something that gets worked out with the director so it fits together with his vision of how he’ll shoot it”.
“So (the director) is what we’re waiting for, and we’ll move forward from there”.
Daltrey also revealed that he has been watching other music biopics which have been informative “about what I don’t want to do. I’ve seen some of the others. I’m not trying to make that kind of biopic; I’m making a film”.
