Foo Fighters have shared a statement after their concert in Queens was cut short amid concerns over weather conditions.

The band were performing 13 songs from a typically 20 song setlist at the Citi Field Stadium in Queens, New York for the first of two shows at the venue.

Fans who attended the show even claimed that Foo Fighters’ lead singer Dave Grohl had warned the audience that the concert might be cut short with the weather set to deteriorate.

This performance was abruptly cut show due to weather concerns, with heavy rain and lighting lurking around the open-air stadium.

Foo Fighters were performing an intro to ‘Everlong’, before the show was officially halted.

Foo Fighters “so disappointed” To Call Off Show

Following this, Foo Fighters who were also due to perform at the venue tomorrow (July 19), have released this statement.

“We are so disappointed that we were unable to play our full set for tonight’s fantastic crowd at Citi Field. But the safety of our fans, the crew and everyone working in the stadium comes first, so when it was determined that there was no safe way to continue the show in this dangerous weather, we had no choice but to call it a night”, they said.

The band also added: “We’re grateful for every second we were able to play for you and looking forward to seeing you again – maybe as soon as Friday!”.

Photos of the show’s inclement weather were also shared by some fans online. Check that out here.

Another fan also posted on X that Dave Grohl had said that Foo Fighters would return to the stage if it was safe to so, which failed to materialise. More on this here.

Earlier this month, Noel Gallagher revealed that he refused to speak to Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl at Glastonbury over the singer’s attempts to reunite Oasis.
