Tenacious D’s Kyle Gass has deleted his apology post over comments he made regarding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Gass was performing alongside bandmate Jack Black on stage in Sydney, Australia, a day after former US President Donald Trump was shot in Pennsylvania ahead of his final campaign speech.

That show saw Gass celebrate his 64th birthday, which Black beginning to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Gass, before asking him to make a wish.

At this point, Gass responded by saying: “Don’t miss Trump next time”.

This comments caused major controversy, with one Australian politician even calling for Gass to be deported.

“highly inappropriate and dangerous”

Following this, Jack Black pulled the plug on the rest of Tenacious D’s upcoming tour, including shows in Australia.

Black confirmed that all “future creative plans” for Tenacious D would be put on hold.

Initially, Kyle Gass issued an apology for his comments regarding Donald Trump.

“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone”, Gass said.

He also added: “What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused”.

However, this post appears to have been deleted, with Gass and Black yet to comment on the matter.

It was also reported that Gass has been dropped by his talent agency, with reports from several media outlets reporting that Michael Greene of Greene & Associates Talent Agency are no longer representing the Tenacious D guitarist.

Jack Black had earlier said that he was left “blindsided” by Gass’ comments.

“I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday”, Black said. “I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form”.
