Rod Stewart has admitted that he believes "my days are numbered".

The music legend said this while reflecting on turning 80 next January in a recent interview.

“I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear", he said. “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket".

Stewart continued: “I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy".

“I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that", he added. “Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show".

Rod Stewart will reach this milestone on January 10 next year.

Stewart Outlines Ireland Hopes

Back in April, Rod Stewart had expressed his hopes of spending more time in Ireland in the future.

In a recent interview with Miriam O'Callaghan, the singer has said that he hopes he and his wife Penny Lancaster will spend more time in the future.

“I can’t wait to get back to Dublin,” Stewart said. “Do you know I have an apartment there now?”.

O’Callaghan then replied, “So I hear – near the Aviva [Stadium]”.

Stewart replied: “Just up the road,”.

Back in February, Rod Stewart was busy collaborating with Jools Holland on a new album, Swing Fever, which includes the single 'Pennies From Heaven'. Find out more on this here.
