Bob Dylan Records Music For New Ronald Reagan Biopic

Bob Dylan has recorded new music for the upcoming Ronald Reagan biopic.

The music legend has conformed that he has recorded a live cover of ‘Don’t Fence Me In’ for this upcoming movie, which will see Dennis Quaid star as the former US President.

Creed frontman Scott Stapp will also star in this movie alongside Quaid.

This film, Reagan, has been on the cards for some time now, following its original announcement in 2020.

Dylan’s recording ‘Don’t Fence Me In’, is a cover of Cole Porte’s song from 1934. It was later popularised by Gene Autry in the 1940s, who Quaid is ironically a third-cousin to.

Speaking about the contribution of Bob Dylan to the film, Quaid had this to say.

“I was honoured to have Bob join our film. We gave him the freedom to do any song he wanted to do, whether an original or a cover, and he chose ‘Don’t Fence Me In.’ That was extra special since it was a song that Gene made famous”, he said.

“Bob is a great lover of the American Songbook and we were delighted with the way he delivered the song. He’s a national treasure and was the perfect addition to the film”. 

It was also confirmed that Gene Simmons had also recorded music for Reagan, sharing a cover of ‘Stormy Weather’.

Elsewhere, Clint Black a country music icon, has also shared a cover of John Denver’s ‘Country Road’, which will conclude the movie.

It was also reported that Tanya Tucker recorded music for this film, with details yet to be announced.

News of this biopic also comes after a release date for the upcoming biopic on Bob Dylan was also confirmed. It will arrived in December.
