The Coronas Announce Album And Mini-Ireland Tour

Loading

Following the release of their single ‘Speak Up’, The Coronas have announced that their eighth studio album ‘Thoughts and Observations’ is due for release at the end of this month. To mark the release, the band has teamed up with Golden Discs for a very special mini-tour of launch shows in intimate venues across the country.

The album was written while the boys were in Dingle, Co. Kerry, and recorded in Eastcote Studios in London. It’s a powerful, melodic record which takes an incisive look at life, relationships and art, and the band are looking forward to performing it live. Having played gigs at the Marquee, Cork and Fairview Park in Dublin earlier this summer, frontman Danny is happy to be back after their hiatus, saying “We're still addicted to it” ... “we appreciate it even more now”.

Although technically a three-piece, with Danny O’Reilly on vocals, piano and guitar, Graham Knox on bass and Conor Egan on drums, the band embraced fellow talents on this album with Lar Kaye (All Tvvins) on guitar, Cian MacSweeney (True Tides) on saxophone and Roisin O on backing vocals. 'Thoughts and Observations' is produced by Grammy award-winning, long-time collaborator, George Murphy (Mumford and Sons, The Specials, Ellie Goulding).

The mini-tour of launch gigs is a collaboration with Golden Discs, and at this link, you can order a physical copy of the album and receive your ticket to a show of your choosing. Some venues include Dolan's in Limerick and Monroe’s of Galway (both all ages) as well as shows in Wexford and Kilkenny. Those who have already purchased an album can contact Golden Discs to add a ticket to their pre-order.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to catch Danny and the lads up close, and get an early listen of what is sure to be another great album from The Coronas. Tickets are available from 10am tomorrow (Wednesday 11th September).
