The trailer for Robbie Williams’ upcoming documentary has dropped, and fans have reacted.
This trailer which you can check out below, depicts the former Take That singer as a CGI monkey, in a movie which will document his life, directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman).
“Better Man is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Under the visionary direction of Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman), the film is uniquely told from Williams’ perspective, capturing his signature wit and indomitable spirit”, a synopsis for the movie says.
They also added: “It follows Robbie’s journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist – all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring”.

Fans react to ‘completely bananas’ Williams doc
Following the release of this trailer, fans have been reacting in the comments section, with many praising its sheer bizarre nature.
One fan wrote: “This looks amazing, and completely bananas! Can’t wait to see this!”.
“Looks totally bonkers”, wrote another fan, while another remarked: “Looks totally incredible. Cannot wait. Planet of the Apes does Robbie Williams. Nice one Rob”.

Plans for this documentary were originally confirmed back in 2021, with Gracey promising to portray Williams in a “really original way”.
Gracey said, “As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret,”.
He added, “I want to do this in a really original way. I remember going to the cinema as a kid and there were films that blew me away and made me say as I sat there in the cinema, ‘I’ve never seen this before’. I just want the audience to have that feeling”.
