Pink Floyd have been named as the most popular tattoo choice for rock fans.
This was confirmed by a new study from LLTattoo, who announced which rock bands inspire the most tattoo choices worldwide.
They did this by examining search volume data via Google Keyword Planner, uncovering the volume of tattoo searches or inspired the biggest rock stars of all time.
Pink Floyd came out on top as part of a top 10 which includes Nirvana, Metallica, and Slipknot. Pink Floyd finished above second place Guns N'Roses in the standings.
According to the study, Pink Floyd had received a monthly average of 13,000 searches per month, with tattoos relating to the band receiving 10,675 searches per month on average.
In third place stands Rammstein, with 10,558 searches for tattoos per month, while Metallica carry 9,367 searches per month. Completing the top five was Nirvana with 9,150 searches per month.
The rest of the top 10 comprises of Linkin Park, Slipknot, Twenty One Pilots, Iron Maiden and Tool.
Speaking about the study, Mentor Dedaj had this to say.
“It’s very interesting to see which rock bands inspire the most tattoo pieces around the world. Rock music and ink are seemingly inseparable, and tats are almost obligatory to big rock heads", Dedaj said.
“Having inked people in our studio with pieces influenced by some of these artists, some of the results are unsurprising. However, there are also a few interesting bands included in the top ten, as well as a few that surprisingly didn’t make the list".

Speaking of tattoos, Metallica's James Hetfield unveiled his latest tattoo, a tribute to the late Motorhead musician Lemmy Kilmister back in April. Check that out here.
