A man in his 40s has died in a house fire at Lucan in County Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the man was originally from eastern Europe.
The victim's body remains at the scene, where Gardaí are currently conducting a technical examination.
The coroner has been notified and a post mortem will take place at a later date.
Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade personnel attended the scene of the fire which broke out just before 6am.
Gardaí are warning the public about misinformation about the incident being circulated online, and are asking people to independently verify information they find on social media.
A Garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
