The Libertines’ singer-guitarist Carl Barat and his new side project The Jackals, unveil a new single from their upcoming album.
The new song ‘A Storm Is Coming’ is taken from their upcoming record titled Let It Reign due for release in mid-February.
The band was formed with the help of social media. Carl Barat posted an advert on Facebook, stating he was looking for a drummer, bass player and rhythm guitarist. He was inundated with applications, and after a sifting through the various candidates, picked guitarist Billy Tessio, bassist Adam Claxton and drummer Jay Bone.
The group’s first single ‘Glory Days’, was recorded in memory of the 306 British and Commonwealth soldiers shot for desertion during WWI.
In a press release the band wrote: “Some of these men were blameless due to severe psychological trauma, not cowardice, that rendered them physically unable to cope with the horrific scenes they had witnessed.”
