Live footage of the American rock band Talking Heads emerges online, the clip is from a concert filmed in the eighties.
The New York group formed in 1975, featuring lead singer David Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth and guitarist-keyboard player Jerry Harrison.
The video is from a 1980’s concert that the band played in New Jersey. At this time, the Talking Heads were at the height of their power and were heavily influenced by African music.
The live gig was filmed at the Capitol Theatre during the group’s ‘Remain In Light’ tour.
The black-and-white footage was uploaded by the excellent YouTube channel Music Vault. During the band’s set they play songs such as ‘Psycho Killer’, ‘Houses In Motion’, ‘Once In A Lifetime’ and much more.
Talking Heads split in 1991, however they did reunite for their 2002 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
More than a decade after the band’s brief reunion, Tina Weymouth chatted with Rolling Stone about the possibility of a Talking Heads reunion.
Weymouth said: “You’ll have to ask David Byrne about that. We never ended Talking Heads ourselves. That’s entirely in his court. We never had a fight. I don’t see why there shouldn’t be a reunion. On the other hand, I’m not going to hold my breath because life goes on. Life is too short to sit around moaning about what could have been or what was. We are in touch with the band and we all would love to do it, but we can’t do it without David.”
