Due to increased demand for tickets American rockers, Alabama Shakes have announced a second headline show in Dublin’s Olympia theatre on Tuesday November 3rd.
The news was announced via the bands website this morning. Tickets for the extra date will go on sale Wednesday July 29th at 9am from the usual outlets.
Alabama Shakes are one of the biggest bands on the planet right now. Recently they supported Paulo Nutini at his gig in Marlay. Their second album, Sound and Colour, recently topped the US Billboard chart surpassing their 2012 debut, Boys and girls which peaked at number six.
In their early days front woman Brittany Howard was a fry cook in their hometown of Athens, Alabama. The band made their live debut in May 2009. In 2013 the group were nominated for three Grammy awards; Best Rock Performance for debut single “Hold On”, Best Rock Package for “Boys and Girls” and Best New Act. They are currently on tour in North America.
Tickets for the previously announced gig on Wednesday November 4th are still available from ticketmaster but are selling fast.
