Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has spoken about what he thinks of rapper Kanye West. Coxon didn’t hold back calling the Chicago rapper “a f**cking idiot” when he was asked about him.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Coxon was asked about his views on the artist and was quite blunt in his response. Coxon said “He’s a f**king idiot, isn’t he?” then adding “Does he even make his own albums?”,
Coxon continued by speaking about modern music in general “People aren’t interested in learning instruments and putting effort and time into it. They want it immediately. It’s McDonalds, isn’t it? It’s convenient.”
Coxon later addressed Kanye’s music directly saying “All I hear is a loop starting, some bloke starts to sing or rap, and the loop finishes. There’s no shape to this stuff. And the lyrics just seem to be idiotic.”
All in all he does make some good points, especially about modern music in general. Kanye does however write and produce his own music but he makes some valid points about the way his music is arranged.
